Monarcas Morelia's 2014 - 2015 Soccer Year

This time, I will talk about a team that I have deep inside my heart. This team isn't made for winning titles, nor making money, nor fighting for the non-relegation. So what is this team made for?, you might ask. So I will introduce something new, by this time. This team is really important for the Liga MX. Let's go back a few years ago. Monarcas Morelia was one of the strongest teams in the league, and nobody cared. They even reached a final, which they lost against UNAM. But what is this special feature that makes Monarcas Morelia a special team in Mexico?
Yes, lots of great players, successful in Mexico. Even some of them in Europe. Monarcas was one of the teams that bought great players from the outside of Mexico, and made them successful and famous over the globe. Also, a great power in finding good, mexican players for the national team.
And, what happened?
Well, the system of time-sharing.
The owners of Monarcas Morelia (TV Azteca) bought another team, Atlas FC, and guess what? All of the good players in Morelia moved to Atlas, and Monarcas was left with young players. The rich investment was now in Atlas, and Monarcas was turned into a basic forces team. And yes, some cheap, bad foreigns.
So this soccer year, Monarcas suffered, and a lot. 20 points in 32 matches (18th place in both Apertura and Clausura). A really bad record. And why was this? The preferred team by TV Azteca was Atlas and Morelia was left alone. However, not everything was bad. The chance was gave to young talents, which we now know very well in Mexico.
Remember them, they should become famous in no time. But Morelia is more than just this. Yes, on the past, we found lots of good, mexican players as on this season, but Monarcas deserves a place in the first division, and an honorable one. Just see the other side of the coin, while Monarcas was signing players of unknown teams in South America, Atlas got great players, including an expensive player from the South America champion, San Lorenzo.
The problem of Monarcas Morelia is called time-sharing. The same as Leon (17th place). So when an organization is able to give a 100% of their soccer money to a team and a 100% of their attention, they will become a big team.
So, next season, I expect Monarcas Morelia to recover their old level, return to the good soccer and good players. And please, TV Azteca, make an investment on this wonderful team!

#ClásicoRegio

You probably want me to talk about Tigres and Rayados, the city teams. But I don't feel really identified with these teams. The fact that they are so popular, a fashion in Monterrey, the media inflates them, and even television providers block the signal so you pay extra money for watching them, makes you think you are watching a BIG TEAM! But what are they really? They are a pittance of teams, which lose against Puebla, Querétaro, UdeG. Is it really worth to pay a lot of money just to see bad soccer? Is it worth to talk 24 hours a day of the game in a radio station? These are facts, in my opinion I think it's a good strong derby, with blood and tears, colors and passion. But have in mind it only matters in Monterrey. Maybe Nuevo León.

So this are some images of the match. What do I think? Luckily we finally had a winner, after lots of derbies that ended in a tie. We had spectacle, three goals is a good number for a match that captures lots of attention. For both teams, continue with the campaign. The Clasico Regio isn't a title (Which means, don't add stars to your logo). Go ahead and achieve the goals you setted for this tournament. It's just a match.

This team promises!

Once again, I'll be talking about Dorados de Sinaloa. Probably they aren't the best team in Mexico, neither in the Liga de Ascenso. Probably they aren't the most followed team. But this team has something lots of teams wish to have: a lucid and strong team. But they have a serious problem. Who are them when they play away? They might have lost the series in Oaxaca! Santoya forgave the team and they had a chance on the second leg. But is this what they want when they play against San Luis, Necaxa, or UAT as visitors?
As locals, the match got solved at the tenth minute, with two goals from Roberto 'El Negro' Nurse, the scoring leader. This is the team we, Sinaloa fans, want to see.
Later on, Oaxaca scored a goal, but Dorados answered with another goal, deciding the match, by, again, this man, Nurse.
So this team, it really promises. I think, my opinion, they can win the league with the high quality players they have. The attacking trio, formed by Nurse, Angulo and Prieto, is for taking care.
So the next step is Necaxa. In regular season, Dorados lost as visitors with a score of 2 - 1, but I think this is a new team, with extra motivation on the promotion, and not just 3 points as visitors. Yes, Necaxa is the current champion, but who says they are invincibles?
To finish, just a joke that appears in the networks.
In case you don't understand it, the man on the picture is Florentino Pérez, Real Madrid's president, and he is asking to Bustos, Dorados' manager for Nurse, the goalscorer of Dorados.

Dorados de Sinaloa to face Ascenso MX knockouts!

After 13 weeks of good soccer, Dorados de Sinaloa finally made it to the final knockouts! In a review of the season they made, there are some important things to remember:

  • Second position in Ascenso Mx
  • Only team unbeaten in their stadium
  • They beat the leader by a score of 3 - 1
  • They have the individual scoring leader, the panamanian striker Roberto 'El Negro' Nurse
  • They have the best offensive of the league
  • They have a good squad including international players
  • They have a cool shirt!
And well, those were some facts to remember. Dorados will face Alebrijes de Oaxaca on Quarter Finals, with the first game being played in Oaxaca, and the second one in Sinaloa! (The regular season game ended 2 -1, with a Sinaloa's win)

The dates are this thursday 16, 18 pm, and this sunday 19, 19 pm.
So let's show some support for Dorados! Wait for them, Liga MX!

Coupe de Ligue is for PSG!

Second title for the Parisian squad in this soccer year!
Stade de France was able to testify the big game, in which the PSG was able to beat Bastia with a score of 4 - 0.
The first two goals were scored by the Swedish crack Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one by the penalty way and the other a shot from outside the box. PSG finished the first half with an advantage of two goals.
The second half started with the same control, a red one. Later on, Edinson Cavani entered the match and scored two extra goals for the Saint-Germain-en-Laye team.
The match ended, and PSG got their second trophy in the soccer year after the Trophée des Champions won in August 2014.
After this match, PSG recovered two players who were injuried, Lucas Moura and Edinson Cavani, and they lost nobody to the injuried squad.
Next, they will face Barcelona on UEFA Champions League to decide who should advance to semifinals.
PSG, in case they win the three french national trophies, they will be achieving something never seen before! Nobody has ever won the three trophies in a year! In case they win the Champions League, it will be greater, but it's a little bit harder due to the level of competence.
So rest with this image, PSG Champions of French Coupe de la Ligue!

What happens with Borussia Dormund?

A bad start, yes.
16 points in 19 matches.
18th place (of 18).
One of the worst attacks of the German Bundesliga, with one of the most wanted men in Europe (injuried in almost all the time at this point).
And then, the resurgance. The team finally started adding points (a bit late, in the matchday #20). But...
Is this the Borussia Dortmund we saw a few years ago?
Is this what we wanted to see from the matchday #1?
Certainly not, Borussia Dortmund's objectives were the following:

  • Bundesliga (1st place)
  • DFB Pokal (Champions)
  • UEFA Champions League (Semi-Finals)
So, at this point, they are:
  • 31 points below the leader Bayern Munich (missing European competitions)
  • Still alive in the DFB Pokal, Quarter-Finals. The goal is still reachable
  • Eliminated from UCL (Eight-Finals)
This isn't the Borussia Dortmund we wanted to see, even if they win the DFB Pokal.
So for the next year, they should reconstruct the team, and reach the goals they were aiming.
I don't think Reus, Aubameyang, Hummels, Weidenfeller, Immobile, etc., are bad players, but they failed in a very embarrassing way. New players should be searched for, and figures should be sold. A new, powerful, and completely reborn Borussia Dortmund should appear on the next Bundesliga.

#MoleTour

So we finally have vacations, and we can watch soccer all day!
But wait...
FIFA date! :(
The only soccer games we have to watch are the national teams' games.
But why is it bad? It's a God's blessing to be able to watch your national team, and better, to win both matches!
Really, are you serious?
First of all, players don't want to get hurt. They just play for compromise (case USA, case Spain, case Germany). After all, they are good players that have the traits needed for a crack. But then there comes Mexico. We don't have enough good players. And the worst part of it... WE HAVE TO MAKE TWO TEAMS for two different cups.
So we don't have good players and El Piojo ends up calling the bench of Europe and players that once shone in the league. Pityfully, the mexican league is dominated by foreigns, and we don't have players in other leagues.
So, a random team made of europe benchmen, and bad mexicans is going to play this weekend that you have no school remorse. What a blessing!
So instead of watching Paris SG, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern Munchen or Borussia Dortmund in this free weekend, you will enjoy two bad matches of the #MoleTour.
And there is no escape, because in Europe, like I said, players just play for compromise.
And to finish this review of the international weekend, I must add the incredible results Mexico got on both matches!
Mexico 1 - 0 Ecuador
Mexico 1 - 0 Paraguay
Thanks

Veracruz's performance against América (4-0)

Friday night, América comes from a painful defeat at Costa Rica in the Champions league, and Veracruz come from another painful defeat but in Tijuana, in the leage, that made them lose unbeaten streak in league.
The match started a bit loaded to the jarocho side, with the clear advantage and the steep pitch in favour of the Veracruz. The first goal came 15 minutes after the kick-off. A defensive neglect after a corner, Leiton Jimenez appears unmarked and scored the first goal.
39th minute, another mistake in the America's defensive line. A bad fielding of the ball after a corner, Meneses appears unmarked, asists Leobardo inside the box and he scores.
America team loses itself attacking, and in a kickback, Julio Furch (picture) scores the third with a magnificient definition. (video)
A few minutes more, and Christian Pellerano (who just entered the pitch) recieves a red card. América starts attacking a lot more (they finally entered the match) and Melitón Hernandez becomes a figure. He even stopped a penalty. Just to finish, a mistake made by Samudio leaves Vázquez alone in the box and he doesn't hesitate to score the fourth one.
The match ends and rumors say that Matosas will leave the Azulcremas.
The things we have to emphasize of this match are the following:
  • the red power
  • the yellow chaos and uncertainty
  • the quality of the red players
  • the full "Pirata Fuente" to see the match
  • the return to the winning ways of the Veracruz

National teams or League Clubs?

So the question speaks for itself. In a federation, which of both should have a higher priority? To expose both points of view, please think of this:
Your national team is about to get eliminated from the next World Cup. You know that if your team loses the World Cup, lots of money inverted in sponsors, kit makers, salaries, image, etc, will be wasted.
So the best solution is: get the best players (usually from your local league), make a powerful national team and qualify to the World Cup final stage.
However, who cares about the local league?
Any team could become champion and key players should participate in the National team instead of participating in the local league, because their HIGH level of skill makes them deserve to play in the National team instead of the mediocre local league.
So the National team is definitely more important than the local league.... ???
Now think of this:
Entrepreneurs of the country, spending millions on transfers for the club to work well.
The club actually IS working well, after years of bad results different club managers and players.
Congratulations! You did a great job, you deserve a great campaign, lots of money in sponsors because you are actually the sensation this year. Maybe a title.
BUT WAIT!!
The National team is going really bad, they need help and they want your players.
What about taking your goalkeeper, two defenders, a pair of midfilders and of course, your striker that scores the goals?
Who cares if your club gets dismantled?
The important thing is that THE NATIONAL TEAM IS GOING TO THE WORLD CUP!!
So bad results return, you lose the league, your aspirations you had when you were playing well, your players (who are obviously good) get seen by the whole world and now "x" team in Europe wants them and they leave.
To this now comes the question... what is bad with this? It's what happens here in Mexico...
So now think of the new, young talented players in Mexico. Will they want to play here, in a mediocre league?
*mhm*Pulido*mhm*Corona*mhm*.
They will obviously leave the country for better oportunities.
And now the current champion in the league exchanges players with the team that gets relegated.
Players that play well end up in the second division.
Few players have THE GREAT OPORTUNITY OF WARMING UP BENCHES IN EUROPE.
So really, ask yourself the question, is your national federation focused on the sport in your country (a competitive league, good players, new talents, players sold to Europe to PLAY and for millions)?
Or is it focused on money and image (have you seen the new Mexico jersey? They will win Copa America with it! They will play the cup with the second team formed by MEXICAN LEAGUE PLAYERS)?
And you? Who do you think should keep the best players? National teams or League Clubs?
Think of Europe national teams, with some old players, respecting the club interests and local leagues so they don't interfere with their destiny (championship, money, fans, sponsors, money for more players).

Just a video I found of the importance and value of a National team.
